Welcome to the web site of Double Cottage Breeding & Racing Lofts, we are situated in Windsor, Berkshire in the south east of the uk. This web site is aimed to promote these two wonderful family's of pigeons. At Double Cottage Breeding & Racing Lofts our goal is very simple, we want to breed and race the best possible type of pigeon passing this on through the generations maintaining the high standards we set ourselves. To achieve this everything about our program is geared towards this. Once we had completed a lot of research in to results, bloodlines & ancestry of many strains the two strains we make available to you are the famous Janssen Van Den Bosch family and the Janssen De Klak family To make available what we have to day a huge amount of effort & money has been put in to acquiring some of the finest stock pigeons available in the UK for the purpose of establishing a world class stock team which we can work with and continually breed from to ensure the correct type and body build is maintained throughout the family. Not everything we breed or sell from our lofts will win, or will breed a winner. However, we hope our successes as breeders is measured by the successes of our own top racing results and our customers who return year after year.
At stock we house about 22 pairs of stock pigeons, we only sell youngsters of the same breeding pairs we use to supply our own racing lofts, which have won several first prizes at Club, Federation, Combine, Classic, National & International level with over 17,000 birds competing.
The Janssen De Klak Strain started back in 1997 where we acquired some very good Borgman Bros De Klaks at a huge cost at the time. From day one this family started to win at the highest level during the next few years our aims was to concentrate on the distance racing so a cross was needed this is when the De Klak family we had started to breed pigeons to win at National & International level gaining top prizes. in 2005 my aim was to concentrate on these klaks and again they were raced pure still winning with introductions including birds direct from the master himself Jos Van Limpt De Klak also pigeons from A en C Van Gestel, Arie Van Beek & Will & Falco Ebben who are fanciers who are winning at the highest level in their country sometimes with only few birds. Between 1997 and now selection has been very strict and the outcome can be seen in the breeding lofts today.
The Janssen Van Den Bosch family has been created from pigeons all originating from Karel Meulemans Super Couple. We started researching this family and begun purchasing birds in 2006 the birds have only been selected through the best possible sources which conform to the type you typically see throughout the Janssen Van Den Bosch family worldwide. The birds at our stock today are from Herman Beverdam, Hans Erjierkamp & Zn (Ponderosa UK) & Timbarra Lofts UK. with the intention to have the best we acquired these birds at some considerable cost.
